How Do I link from my Classroom to an External Resource

Posted by John Schroeder   8/6/2012    1 Comments
Courses - Extended 'Link to Classroom' Action Button Availability – Functionality has been enhanced, providing a new ‘Link to Classroom' (webinar) option that can be used by administrators to setup course offerings with links to external webinar environments. Once configured, instructors and students can link to webinars/webinar sites via a “Link to Classroom” action button provided on the Offering details page. Functionality has also been updated to extend availability/visibility of the 'Link to Classroom' action button for users so they can link to that environment even after the session has concluded. This allows administrators to publish an updated URL that can provide link-out access to post-session materials and/or playback of a recorded event.

Related to this new functionality is a recent update that includes addition of a new ‘Webinar’ Facility Type. This new facility type has been added to the list of available facility types (also, the ‘Online’ Facility Type has been re-labeled to ‘Virtual Classroom’, which is used in conjunction with Latitude's integrated virtual classroom add-on capability). Here are a couple of screen captures that illustrate the location and presentation of these new capabilities within course and offering management areas:

Students can simply click on the “Link to Classroom” button to launch into the virtual classroom session.
