How do I Request a PayPal API Signature?

Posted by Latitude Learning Team   4/13/2012    2 Comments
  • To create an API signature, you must have a PayPal Business or Premier Account with PayPal Website Payments Pro (US) service.
    Login to your PayPal Account.
  • Go to profile (on the My Account sub-menu) and click on Request API credentials:
  • On the Request API Credentials page go to Option 1 - PayPal API and click on Set up PayPal API credentials and permissions
  • Next go to Option 2 and click on Request API credentials:

  • Select Request API Signature and click Agree and Submit:

  • View the API signature and click DONE

Samuel, we think the issue may be the PayPal Pro Email link you reference in your comment. After logging into PayPal click on MY ACCOUNT -> PROFILE -> REQUEST API CREDENTIALS -> SET UP PAYPAL API CREDENTIALS AND PERMISSIONS -> REQUEST API CREDENTIALS -> REQUEST API SIGNATURE -> AGREE AND SUBMIT. If you are still having difficulties, you can contact PayPal Technical Support at 1-800-852-1973

I am trying to request my account API credentials, and everytime I try to navigate to the page where it "should" display the info I need, PayPal Pro Email: API Username: API Password: API Signature, I get an error page, or something happens, and I am unable to just get that information.
