Training Opportunities for Association Members
SALINE, Mich., April 14, 2011 – LatitudeLearning, provider of the industry leading software as a service (SaaS) learning management system (LMS), announced today that the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) will leverage LatitudeLearning to offer training to pet retailers through its PetStorePro.com portal.
This highly configurable, SaaS LMS, originally developed for global Fortune 50 companies, is available to companies and associations to host their proprietary learning classes and manage student records. It enables companies and associations to provide world class training functionality and effectiveness through a robust, adaptable training platform.
Launched in 2008, Pet Store Pro was developed to help independent pet retailers differentiate their stores based on employee knowledge and service, rather than price. The program teaches critical skills to help store owners and managers turn entry-level employees from pet enthusiasts into effective sales professionals, improve customer service and satisfaction, and increase sales and profitability.
Pet Store Pro’s brand-neutral content includes customer service and sales, merchandising, nutrition and in-store animal care. Pet Store Pro is available at no charge to qualified pet retailers through their distributor partners and PIDA.
“We did a great deal of due diligence, seeking a LMS that met our program’s needs while positioning us to add capabilities and grow our user base,” said Stephanie A. Kaplan, PIDA’s director of online education. “LatitudeLearning met all of our requirements and provided additional user and administrator functionality.”
“Our new platform makes Pet Store Pro even easier for retailers to use, streamlines registration and allows store owners and managers to assign a customized curriculum and monitor employee progress at a glance. LatitudeLearning also simplifies administration by association staff and dramatically expands PIDA’s reporting capabilities.”
“We welcome the Pet Industry Distributors Association to the community of users leveraging LatitudeLearning to effectively meet their training needs, and ensuring their constituents are knowledgeable and well trained in their respective job functions,” stated Latitude CEO Jeff Walter. “We are proud to be leading the industry in providing an adaptable LMS that meets the learning needs for companies and individuals throughout the world.”
Latitude CG is the developer and host of the world class learning management system (LMS), LatitudeLearning. Initially built for global Fortune 50 companies, LatitudeLearning is an adaptable SaaS LMS, which any size organization can afford.
The Pet Industry Distributors Association was organized in 1968 to promote progress within the pet industry and to conduct programs and activities on behalf of the wholesaler-distributor. PIDA’s mission is to enhance the well being of the wholesaler-distributor, to promote partnerships with their suppliers and customers, and to work cooperatively with other organizations in fostering the human/companion animal bond. Members include pet product wholesaler-distributors, livestock wholesalers and pet product manufacturers.
