Mary Ligon Company Joins the Channel Performance Network to Strengthen Leadership Across Distributed Organizations

Mary Ligon Company Press Release CPN

Leadership development and performance coaching expertise expands CPN’s ability to help franchise, dealer, partner, and other distributed networks build stronger leaders, cultures, and business performance.

Mary Ligon Company has joined the Channel Performance Network (CPN), bringing more than three decades of coaching and training experience to an ecosystem focused on helping organizations improve performance across distributed networks.

Founded by LatitudeLearning, the Channel Performance Network brings together consultants, technology providers, service firms, trainers, advisors, and other specialists whose expertise contributes to stronger franchise, dealer, distributor, reseller, contractor, service partner, and other external networks.

Mary Ligon Company adds an important capability to that ecosystem: leadership development focused on the internal behaviors that shape how leaders communicate, respond to pressure, develop people, and translate organizational vision into action.

Mary Ligon, founder of Mary Ligon Company and creator of The Power Switch System™, has spent more than 33 years coaching and training CEOs, founders, sales leaders, professionals, coaches, and other growth-minded individuals. Her background includes clinical hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), rapid breakthrough methods, and international coaching and training.

That expertise has particular relevance for distributed organizations, where local leaders often have to balance sales, operations, financial performance, customer experience, and people leadership.

“One of the challenges we see in franchise and other distributed networks is that people are often promoted, recruited, or brought into ownership because they are strong in one part of the business, but that doesn’t automatically make them effective leaders,” said Jeff Walter, Founder and CEO of LatitudeLearning. “Leadership is a performance capability. Mary’s work adds another important dimension to CPN by helping leaders develop the confidence, self-awareness, communication skills, and vision needed to bring people with them.”

Walter and Ligon recently explored that challenge on the Training Impact Podcast in an episode titled The Leadership Skill That Changes Everything Starts Within. Their conversation examined why technical management skills alone are not enough to create effective leaders.

The discussion also highlighted a challenge common to middle managers, franchisees, business owners, and other leaders throughout distributed organizations: pressure can make otherwise capable people reactive. Expectations come from above while employees, customers, and operational realities create pressure from below.

Ligon’s approach focuses on helping leaders understand and change the internal patterns that influence their behavior in those moments.

“You aren’t what you do. You are a human being, so be human doing what you’re doing,” Ligon said during the podcast conversation.

That distinction matters because leadership is not simply a title or collection of management techniques. Leaders influence whether people believe in an organization’s purpose, direction, values, and future. Ligon also emphasized during the conversation that leaders are always “selling” — not simply products or services, but ideas, direction, and belief in what an organization is trying to accomplish.

Her work aligns with a central idea behind CPN: improving channel performance requires more than delivering information or implementing technology. Organizations also need people throughout their networks who can communicate expectations, build trust, develop others, remain effective under pressure, and turn strategy into consistent local execution.

This becomes especially important as organizations scale.

A corporate team may define the strategy, build the training, establish standards, and provide technology, but performance ultimately happens through people throughout the network. Franchise owners, dealer principals, branch managers, partner leaders, and other local decision-makers have to translate those resources into action.

CPN is designed to bring together the different disciplines required to make that happen.

Leadership development complements expertise across training, knowledge management, operations, technology, sales enablement, measurement, customer experience, and channel strategy. By connecting those disciplines, CPN is helping establish Channel Performance as a business discipline focused on a simple principle: organizations do not succeed because they have partners; they succeed because their partners perform.

Mary Ligon Company’s participation gives CPN members and the broader community access to another perspective on that challenge — how the mindset and behavior of individual leaders can influence the performance of an entire organization.
